What you take away / what you leave behind is a response to the vast and immeasurable stimuli that confront us when travelling through an urban environment. This project was completed over the course of a residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris. In a process that coupled personal interpretation with urban documentation, the artist has responded to the experience of being in a city that is unfamiliar or new, and the heightened perception of patterns, movement and architectural space that such a condition permits.
This project was supported by the Art Gallery of New South Wales, through the Moya Dyring Memorial Studio Scholarship and the Dyason Bequest.
Exhibition held at Archive_ Space, Sydney.
